Emeka Junior, the first son of late Chukwuemeka Odimegwu Ojukwu, Ikemba Nnewi, on Wednesday, joined All Progressive Congress in Anambra State.
Ojukwu, said he had given the Igbo spirit of victory and success to Tony Nwoye, the APC governorship candidate.
The elections for Anambra are scheduled for Saturday 18 November.
Ojukwu made these statement at the APC mega rally in Awka, the state's capital.
He said, "It's time to leave the shadows to the light. Now and then they come out with my father's shadow to confuse people.
"Mr President, I am proud that I stood here today for your support and solidarity with the APC and our candidate Tony Nwoye."
The rally had President Muhammadu Buhari and the party's top leaders in attendance.
Dressed in heavy agbada crested with pictures of Nwonye, Ojukwu promised to do everything in his power to ensure victory of APC candidate on Saturday as the vote.
Others present were chiefs Aminu Tambuwal of Sokoto, Godwin Obaseki of Edo, Rochas Okorocha of Imo, Rotimi Akeredolu of Ondo, Ibikunle Amosun of Ogun, Abiola Ajimobi of oyo and a host of others.
