Oshiomhole will restore our hope in Imo APC, says Okorocha

…Invites Osinbajo to Imo

From Everest Ezihe, Owerri

Imo State governor, Rochas Okorocha, has assured that the coming of former Governor of Edo State, Adams Oshiomhole, as the National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC) will restore sanity and discipline in the party.

The Governor, who recently visited President Muhammadu Biughari in company of Oshiomhole, over the lingering crisis in Imo State chapter of the APC insisted that the party leadership is still intact in Imo State, despite the crisis.

Okorocha who is the Chairman of APC Governor’s Forum, said this in Government House, Owerri on Tuesday while briefing journalists on achievements of his Rescue Mission Government in the State for the past seven years and as part of the activities marking the nation’s Democracy Day Celebration.

According to him “APC has no problem, what the people described as crisis is the efforts of the party to deepen democracy and strengthen her leadership stronghold. PDP has their own internal problems which will soon explode. Once, Chief Adams Oshimhole takes over the national leadership of APC, the party will witness sanity and discipline” he assured.

He expressed dismay that true democracy is not practiced in Nigeria the way America as the founding father of democracy practices it, informing that in Nigeria democracy is practiced with high level of sentiments and clannishness as against objectivity and issue based.

The governor further lamented that most of the people he empowered economically and politically have resolved to pay him back with ingratitude, noting that no amount of provocation can make him loose focus of his vision for good and qualitative governance.

He reiterated his support for his son in-law, Uche Nwosu, to replace him as next Governor of Imo State, boasting that he would not relent in his his efforts to enthrone him in 2019.

Okorocha who described himself as “The Architect and founder of new Imo” further disclosed that his administration has advanced plans for the Vice President of the nation Prof. Yemi Osibanjo to pay an official visitor to the state by 3rd July, noting that the Vice President will officially commission most of his legacy projects.

Secondus: Buhari, APC celebrating last Democracy Day

National Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, Prince Uche Secondus, yesterday boasted that President Muhammadu Buhari and the APC are celebrating their last Democracy Day, as the party will not return to power in 2019.

HSecpondus, who described President Buhari as a non democrat noted said that never gain would a “non-democrat” be given access to power.

The PDP National Chairman in a statement by his media aide, Ike Abonyi, noted that Nigerians are anxiously looking forward to the opportunity to do away with the ruling All Progressives Congress, APC, and the President.

The PDP boss expressed his sympathy with Nigerians over what he described as a horrible situation they have faced under the present APC administration regretting that rather than having a democracy day, which people should be celebrating freedom and good governance, they are instead burying their innocent ones and groaning in the avoidable hardship.

He charged Nigerians to take their destiny and swear never to pass the APC root again by collecting and properly using their PVCs to save democracy and indeed save Nigeria.

His words: “If Democracy must survive in our country we must do away with APC and Nigerians are ready and willing to do just that because they cherish democracy as the best form of government.

“Going by their poor record of performance in the last 36 months, and the determination of Nigerians to put the country in the right footing, this is the last Democracy Day this President will mark.

“Their agenda now is to intimidate, harass and scare opponents to create a Police state with the aim of turning the country into one party state but it must be resisted by Nigerians who passed similar road before and came out victorious.

‘’The next Democracy Day May, 29, 2019 which Nigerians and indeed all lovers of democracy are anxiously looking forward to would be the smooth transition from confusion and purposeless governance to real democracy which the PDP is returning to gift to the nation.”
